Introduction

NVR: IVA CAN ONLY BE CONFIGURED WITH IP CAMERAS THAT SUPPORT IVA. NOT ALL IP CAMERAS ARE SUPPORTED.

DVR: IVA CAN ONLY BE CONFIGURED WITH A FIRMWARE SUPPORTING IVA

  1. Right-click anywhere on your screen.
    • Right-click anywhere on your screen.

    • Click Main Menu

  2. Under Settings, click Event

  3. Click IVA from the menu options on the left.

  4. Select the Channel you wish to configure.

    • If you receive the error: "Failed to get configuration" this means your IP Camera does not support IVA functions.

  5. Click Add

  6. Select the Type of IVA you wish to configure:

    • Tripwire: Recording triggered by an object crossing a defined area.

    • Intrusion: Recording triggered once an object enters or exits a defined area.

    • Abandoned/Missing: Recording triggered once a specified object is removed from a defined area.

  7. Click the Pencil Icon under Draw

  8. In this example, Tripwire will be configured. If you wish to setup a different IVA Type, the steps to define an area for Intrusion or an object for Missing/Abandoned are similar.

    • Select the Direction you want the Tripwire to detect activity.

  9. To create a Tripwire, define an area for Intrusion, or to specify an Object:

    • Click the mouse once to define the starting point. Click again to define the end point.

    • Right Click once, to finalize the IVA rule.

    • Click Save once completed.

    • Creating areas for Intrusion or to define an Object, require completed "boxes"; not like Tripwire which only requires a line drawn.

  10. Click on the Gear Icon under Trigger
    • Click on the Gear Icon under Trigger

  11. Click on Set next to Trigger Period.
    • Click on Set next to Trigger Period.

  12. Click on Set for one of the days of the week.
    • Click on Set for one of the days of the week.

  13. Enter the Period of time to use IVA
    • Enter the Period of time to use IVA

    • Check the box to Enable

    • Adding more than 1 Period allows for more specific recording schedules.

    • Select All to copy the schedule to all days, or individually select the desired days.

    • Click Save

  14. Be sure to confirm the desired schedule is shown.

  15. Click OK
    • Click OK

  16. Click Apply

    • Click Camera

  17. Click Rec Schedule
    • Click Rec Schedule

    • Select the Channel using IVA.

  18. Click the Gear Icon for one of the days.
    • Click the Gear Icon for one of the days.

  19. Enter the Period of time to use IVA
    • Enter the Period of time to use IVA

    • Select the IVA box to Enable

    • Adding more than 1 Period allows for more specific recording schedules.

    • Motion Detection is enabled by default and can be used at the same time as IVA. To limit the number of false triggers and maximize your storage capabilities, it is recommended to only use IVA.

  20. Select All to copy the schedule to all days, or individually select the desired days.
    • Select All to copy the schedule to all days, or individually select the desired days.

    • Click Save

  21. Click Apply
    • Click Apply

    • Click OK

Followed these steps and rechecked config to be sure it was saved, but no IVA event gets detected. Tried with all 3 cameras installed. Is there something else that could be missing? This is for NVR QCK81 with cameras QCN8093B.

Try updating the FW of the NVR and cameras and retrying the configuration.
