  1. Right click the mouse on the NVR and select Main Menu

  2. Click Event in the Settings area at the bottom of the window

  3. Select the Channel you wish to configure to receive emails.

  4. Check the boxes for: Enable / Send Email / Snapshot

  5. Once complete, click Apply.

    • You must configure each channel individually, repeat steps 3-4 as needed per channel.

    • Click Save after configuring all channels.

    • You will need to manually enter:

    • SMTP Server: (gmail default: smtp.gmail.com)

    • (SMTP) Port: (gmail default: 465)

    • Username: (your full email address)

    • Password: (password to your email address)

  8. Receiver: (email address you wish to receive alerts)

    • Subject: (customizable)

    • Attachment: (check if you want snap shots attached)

    • Encrypt Type: (gmail default: SSL)

  9. Click Test.
    • Click Test.

    • If the test is successful, you will see the message “Mail Test Normal”.

    • Click OK

  10. You may also check the Sender’s email account for recently sent messages.

    • You should see a test email in the Sent folder, similar to the example.

Sorry.

Apparently Google changed something again. Everything worked fine with Google e-mail notifications until the past week. Q-See support tells me to use an e-mail account on another service (i.e., not Gmail).

VERY disappointed in how Q-See, a security system company, has with security issues (i.e., using Gmail required “relaxed security” — that is, NOT meeting current e-mail security standards — in order for e-mail notifications to work. And now Google changed something again, and even that relaxed security setting doesn’t work. :-(

We have found that only our QC Series is experiencing issues with Gmail accounts. Please use an email account from another provider such as Yahoo.
