I have a QTH98 that has this “feature” that forces me to go through this process to shut down the DVR. I get the please power off safely message and I unplug the power cable but the siren still goes off. I can not power off this DVR without a siren going off. How can I disable this completely or remove the siren?

Kevin,

To clarify, you are asking if the beep noise that occurs when the DVR has power cut from it, can be turned off?

I am asking how it can be disabled. There are special instructions sticker on the DVR that says you have to go through the menu to shut down the DVR, simply unplugging the power cable will cause an alarm to go off that will continue to go off until power is restored to the unit. Even if I shut down the DVR “properly” through the menu, the alarm would still go off.

Kevin,

If the system has been shutdown, there would be no way for the buzzer on the system to go off or remain on. Once power is disconnected from the system, there is no way for the buzzer to remain on. Can you contact our support team @877-998-3440 and share the symptoms so we can hear the issue in real time?

Best Regards,
