I called and spoke to a technician today explaining that all 4 of my cameras were recording continuously. I only want them to record with motion.

So, he walked through these same instructions and I told him while in the Motion tab/Schedule that after I applied Settings to All

Channel and clicked on Copy, the only options which were available and would highlight to click were Default or Exit. The Apply option did not highlight when passing the cursor over it. His solution to my problem was not resolved, and he sent me these instructions which do not help .

Tony,

If you feel that the recording settings are not working 24/7 on motion, the fail safe way to ensure the proper setting is to load factory defaults.

Go to Menu - Setup - Advanced - Reset

It is possible that another schedule, or manual recording has been enabled. This could be causing conflicts, so loading defaults is a sure fire way.

Best Regards,

I am experiencing the exact same issue as Tony. The system shows that it is set to “Motion” but continues to record 24/7 whether there is motion or not. The QT View app will not allow selection of specific dates other than the current day. All queries to tech support have yielded nothing in terms of fixing any of these issues. This system has not been functional in terms of security or identifying when someone has been on our property.

try pressing the REC button on the front of the DVR once. this will turn off manual recording. The motion schedule should start again.

There is no REC button on the front of the DVR. I have gone to SETTINGS using the mouse. In “Mode Settings” I have selected Auto, Motion Record and set record time to 1min and hit Apply. It is now showing as it was before, that it is in Motion Detection Mode. Any further advice to get the system functioning on Motion detection would be much appreciated.
